USATF Course Certification
The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances.
For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course. In addition, the certification program is very important to the average road racer, as well as those of exceptional speed. Most runners like to compare performances run on different courses, and such comparisons are difficult if course distances are not reliable. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.
Course Certification — Base Services

- Precise location of Start, Finish, and Turnaround points on route
- Course certification map with enhanced detail and description for locating key points
- Submission of all USATF Measurement Certificate required documentation (10 year validation)
- Printable copy of USATF Measurement Certificate and certification map

USATF COURSE CERTIFICATION & CREATION
2L Race Services measures road race courses for official certification (mid-Atlantic region — PA, NJ, DE, & MD) for various race lengths, from 1-mile courses to marathons. We can USATF Certify your course, and we will handle the certification process from start to finish. USATF certification will professionalize your event.
We measure your race route per precise USATF specifications. This means your race distance is accurate, so your runners will be confident they did run the advertised distance! Your certified race course also makes all results from your race eligible for recognition as USATF records and as an official qualifying event for larger races (such as Boston), an added benefit you can provide your race participants.
